On July 9, a ceremonial opening of the Clinical Application Center for the “brain-computer” interface for high-altitude regions was held at the People’s Hospital in the city of Lhasa. The “brain-computer” interface technology collects neural signals, analyzes and processes them using artificial intelligence, and makes decisions by converting brain neural signals into control commands, providing a connection between the brain and external devices and helping patients with paralysis recover motor functions. The medical team from Beijing Tiantan Hospital, providing targeted assistance to Xizang, implemented this technology in Xizang in 2026, giving hope for recovery to patients on the snowy plateau.
