Islamabad, July 12 /Xinhua/ — Pakistan’s Vice Premier and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Sunday called on the United States and Iran to follow the path of de-escalation and exercise restraint, as agreed in the memorandum of understanding signed in Islamabad in June 2026. The country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported this.
I. Dar held a telephone conversation with the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran, Abbas Araghchi, during which the interlocutors exchanged views on the developing situation in the region, according to a statement from the department.
I. Dar emphasized that “dialogue and diplomacy remain the only viable path to resolving disputes and achieving lasting peace and stability in the region,” the ministry noted.
He also confirmed Pakistan’s readiness to continue playing a constructive role in promoting and maintaining regional peace and stability, the Foreign Ministry statement said. –0–
