Beijing, July 11 /Xinhua/ — Cai Qi, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, and Pak Tae Song, chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, delivered speeches on Friday in Beijing at a reception in honor of the 65th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation, and Mutual Assistance between the PRC and the DPRK.
Cai Qi stated that over the past 65 years, the friendship between the two countries has withstood the test of changes in the international situation, and the bilateral relations have kept pace with the times and strengthened.
Noting that the top leaders of the two parties and two states, possessing foresight and a desire to continue traditions and explore new horizons, have jointly ushered bilateral relations into a new historical era, Cai Qi stated that China is ready, together with the DPRK, to consider the important agreements reached by the two leaders as the main guidance and strategic line, to develop the traditional friendship and strive to elevate the cause of socialism and the traditional friendly cooperative relations between the two countries to a new level.
Pak Thae Song, heading the party-government delegation on an official visit to China, stated that over the past 65 years, the DPRK and China, adhering to the spirit of the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation, and Mutual Assistance between the PRC and the DPRK, have supported each other and closely cooperated in the effort to preserve and develop the common socialist cause.
The DPRK is ready to work with China to deepen cooperation in various fields and to open a new chapter in friendly relations between the DPRK and China, stated Pak Tae Son, who is also a member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea and Vice Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK. -0-
