First Deputy Chairman of the Government Denis Manturov held a meeting on the implementation of the national project for technological leadership “New Materials and Chemistry” with the participation of the leadership of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Ministry of Finance, and Ministry of Economic Development. Industrial and scientific organizations involved in the project’s implementation also took part in the discussion.

The Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, Mikhail Yurin, reported on the fulfillment of all checkpoints for the first half of the year. He noted that necessary agreements have been concluded and budget obligations fully accepted in terms of competitive selections. The competitive selection for the creation of centers for engineering developments in new materials and chemistry has been completed. In addition, a mechanism for providing subsidies to Russian manufacturers of commodity products of rare and rare-earth metals has been launched to compensate for lost income related to offering buyers discounts on product sales.
