Beijing, July 10 /Xinhua/ — Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress /NPC Standing Committee/, held separate meetings on Friday in Beijing with Namibian President Hage Geingob and Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea Pak Tae Song.

During the meeting with N. Nandi-Ndaitwah, Zhao Leji stated that the Chinese side is ready to jointly implement the important agreements reached by the heads of the two states, develop traditional friendship, deepen practical cooperation, and steadily raise the level of China-Namibia comprehensive strategic cooperation and partnership relations.

According to Zhao Leji, the NPC is ready to intensify contacts and exchanges with the Parliament of Namibia, deepen cooperation within the framework of a multilateral platform such as the Inter-Parliamentary Union, and promote joint development.

N. Nandi-Ndaitwa, in turn, stated that the Namibian-Chinese friendship has deep historical roots and only grows stronger over time. The Namibian side strictly adheres to the one-China principle and is ready to establish strong cooperation with the Chinese side in areas such as economy and trade, infrastructure, agriculture, and mining, added the president.

She assured that Namibia is also ready to strengthen exchanges between legislative bodies, continuously reinforcing friendly feelings between the peoples of the two countries.

During the meeting with Pak Tae Son, Zhao Leji noted that the strategic leadership from the top leaders of both parties and both states is the main advantage and fundamental guarantee of China-North Korea relations.

The Chinese side, continued the chairman of the NPC Standing Committee, is ready to work together with North Korean comrades to implement important agreements reached by the top leaders of the two parties and two states, develop traditional friendship, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, activate exchanges between legislative bodies, as well as exchanges of experience in party and state governance, thereby achieving further development of China-North Korea relations.

Pak Thae Song, who is also a member of the Presidium of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea and deputy chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK, in turn, stated that the North Korean side is ready to jointly act with the Chinese side in accordance with the strategic directives of the top leaders of the two parties and two states.

He added that the North Korean side will use the joint celebration of the 65th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation, and Mutual Assistance between the DPRK and China to strengthen coordination and cooperation, deepen exchanges between legislative bodies, and achieve new progress in the development of North Korea-China relations. –0–
