Beijing, July 10 /Xinhua/ — The so-called narratives of a “Chinese displacement” are clearly not accurate; China and other countries of the Global South are companions on the path of modernization, said Mao Ning, an official spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PRC, on Friday.
The diplomat made this statement at a regular departmental briefing for journalists in response to a question about so-called narratives of “Chinese displacement,” according to which Chinese industrial production not only shakes Western countries but also squeezes the space for industrial development of other countries in the Global South.
According to Mao Ning, China, as a member of the Global South, always unconditionally shares its development experience and promotes it to all countries of the Global South.
As noted by the official representative, China has helped other countries of the Global South strengthen their own development potential by establishing productive cooperation in the fields of infrastructure, investment, and technology, assisted them in expanding exports of high-quality products to China by opening access to its market, which, in turn, contributed to industrial development through trade revenues and helped them optimize resource allocation and accelerate industrial transformation and modernization by providing accessible and affordable environmentally friendly products.
“China and other countries of the Global South are constant companions on the path of modernization,” emphasized Mao Ning.
“The greatness of a country lies in serving the common good. Through its own development, China will provide the world with more opportunities for shared prosperity,” summarized the official representative of the Chinese foreign affairs department. –0–
