The INNOPROM-2026 exhibition has concluded in Yekaterinburg. Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University presented its advanced developments, concluded new cooperation agreements, and also took an active part in the exhibition’s business program.
The rector of SPbPU, Andrey Rudskoy, visited the joint-stock company “Ural Transport Engineering Plant,” which is a modern, stable, and dynamically developing enterprise producing complex high-tech products for both special and civilian purposes. “Uraltransmash” manufactures tram cars. Thus, in 2025, the plant produced high-tech retro-style trams “Dostoevsky” and “Dovlatov” for Saint Petersburg.
During the visit, a strategic partnership agreement was signed between SPbPU and JSC “Uraltransmash”. Within the framework of the cooperation, the university will train young specialists in the field of high-tech manufacturing. In addition, Polytechnic and its new partner will conduct joint scientific research and innovative projects in priority areas of the development of science, technology, and engineering.
Scientific Secretary of SPbPU Dmitry Karpov spoke at a joint meeting of the Council for Communications and Interaction with the Media of the Union of Defense Industry Enterprises and the Guild of Industrial Journalists. The meeting discussed issues related to the promotion of industry in the mass media. Dmitry Karpov shared Polytech’s experience in promoting its developments. He emphasized the importance of close cooperation with industrial partners and creating joint projects. The Scientific Secretary cited as an example the recent development of Polytech and JSC “UOMZ” — anesthetic evaporator “Morpheus”. Dmitry Karpov also emphasized that in the modern world, it is necessary to tell about yourself not only in print media but also to collaborate with bloggers who have large audiences, the so-called “opinion leaders.” In this way, a wider circle of people can learn about the organization.
Congress and exhibition activities contribute to the active development of the university. We carefully plan participation in such events to ensure that work at the exhibition is as effective as possible. It is very important to correctly select exhibits for the stand and prepare the stand staff. This helps attract as many new potential partners as possible. The main advantage of exhibitions is their multifunctionality. We use the entire toolkit — participating in the business program, conducting negotiations with existing and new partners, visiting other companies’ stands, exchanging experiences with colleagues, signing cooperation agreements, and giving interviews to various media. In addition, at events in other cities, the university leadership, represented by the rector, regularly visits partner enterprises, where they can familiarize themselves with their innovations, conduct negotiations with their management, and interact with employees. And, of course, we continue our work in the post-exhibition period — thanking partners, discussing with them the prospects for further cooperation,” commented Dmitry Karpov, the academic secretary of SPbPU, on participation in INNOPROM-2026.
These were the closing events of the exhibition. All participants gained valuable experience, and the Polytechnic’s developments attracted great attention from visitors. Many were interested in the projects of our scientists.
This is our first experience participating in such a large-scale exhibition. Despite the fact that the event featured a huge variety of different developments and directions, our project attracted interest, and we managed to find colleagues immersed in the field of molecular diagnostics. It can already be said that the communication within INNOPROM-2026 could lead to the emergence of new topics for the development of our field,
The exhibition is grand and impressive in every sense. It features many interesting ideas. This event is an excellent way to enhance public speaking skills and promote the product we represent. We made very useful connections here that could help in the future development of our projects and team,
What impressed me the most was the scale of the exhibition. A lot of people were interested in our developments, and although our areas are quite narrow, we managed to find a target audience here. During conversations with visitors, we came up with new ideas on how to use our technologies and implement tools that will increase the efficiency of almost the entire production,” said Semyon Sulimov, an engineer at the R&D Engineering Center “Design, Certification, and Testing of Advanced Power Sources.”
