Lü Jianjun, a research fellow at the Shanghai Institute of Silicate Ceramics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, led a team engaged in research at the intersection of the disciplines “artificial intelligence + materials” and created an intelligent materials design system, reducing the development cycle of new materials from 8–10 years to 1–2 years.
Returning to China more than ten years ago from abroad, Liu Jianjun began with computational materials science and grew into a leading scientific specialist with the support of the Institute. He led the creation of a mechanism for training young personnel, helping young specialists quickly adapt and develop through close interaction. At the same time, he organized the conduct of scientific and educational work by the members of the party cell in science and technology museums.
In his opinion, party building is not an “additional task,” but a “mandatory task” that must be integrated into cutting-edge scientific research work. Liu Jianjun says that his original goal is to take a leading position in the field of intellectual materials science and contribute to ensuring the scientific and technological independence and self-sufficiency of the country.
