Ankara, July 8 /Xinhua/ — U.S. President Donald Trump stated on Wednesday that the ceasefire regime with Iran “is no longer in effect,” and he no longer wants to deal with Iran.

In a conversation with journalists along with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, D. Trump said he no longer wants to interact with Iranian officials.

“For me, this is the end. I no longer want to have anything to do with them… These are sick people, they are led by sick people, they are malicious, cruel people,” he noted.

“If they had nuclear weapons, they would use them. As far as I understand, the ceasefire has ended,” said D. Trump.

He expressed skepticism about future negotiations, stating that he would consult with his negotiators, but described communication with Iranian officials as a “waste of time,” accusing them of dishonesty.

D. Trump also stated that Iranian representatives privately negotiate terms concerning nuclear weapons but publicly deny these agreements after the meetings conclude.

He concluded that, although technical discussions may continue, he considers the current negotiation process completed.
