Beijing, July 8 /Xinhua/ — China’s Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao stated that China hopes the Dutch side will create a fair and predictable business environment for Chinese enterprises investing in the Netherlands and support the stability of production and supply chains in the semiconductor industry, according to a press release from the Ministry of Commerce of China published on Wednesday.
“The Ministry of Commerce of China is ready to strengthen cooperation with the Netherlands in areas such as advanced manufacturing, technological innovation, green transformation, and modern services,” said Wang Wentao, adding that the ministry also hopes the Dutch side will facilitate the proper resolution of disputes involving relevant companies.
“China welcomes the desire of Dutch enterprises to invest in China and share in the large market of the country,” Wang Wentao noted during the 18th meeting of the China-Netherlands Joint Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, held on Tuesday in Beijing.
During the meeting, both sides conducted an open and in-depth exchange of views regarding economic and trade relations both between China and the Netherlands, and between China and the EU, according to the press release.
Van Wentao said that the joint statement issued following the first meeting of the China-EU Trade and Investment Consultative Mechanism, held last week, confirmed that China and the EU, as key trading partners, agreed to stabilize bilateral relations and make them more balanced. “We hope that the Dutch government will play a positive and constructive role within the EU, encouraging the EU to move towards China and resolve differences through dialogue and consultations.” -0-
