Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev held a meeting dedicated to the progress of seasonal fieldwork. The event was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture, Rosselkhoznadzor, the Ministry of Energy, other interested agencies and companies, as well as regional leadership. Among the main topics were the preliminary results of sowing, including the implementation of the sowing area structure, as well as preparations for the mass harvest.
“The harvesting campaign has started in Russia. Harvesting has begun in 16 regions. So far, more than 4.5 million tons of grain have been threshed. The work is proceeding according to agrotechnological timelines. And importantly, the yield is currently higher than last year’s. At the same time, the spring sowing can practically be considered complete,” said Dmitry Patrushev.
One of the key issues of the meeting was the provision of agricultural workers with material and technical resources, including fuel.
“At the moment, the situation is under control. The Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Energy monitor fuel and lubricants supplies for seasonal field work on a daily basis. Additional measures are taken if necessary,” noted the Deputy Prime Minister.
Dmitry Patrushev added that the Federal Antimonopoly Service, in cooperation with other agencies, was instructed to monitor the situation with fuel prices for farmers in both retail and wholesale segments.
The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that alongside the harvesting of crops, resources must be prepared for the winter sowing. All planned activities must be carried out timely.
During the meeting, issues concerning the start of the harvest campaign in regions of Russia, as well as forecast expectations for the collection of various types of crops, were discussed.
Following the results, Dmitry Patrushev particularly noted that the fuel situation should be under constant control, and he pointed out the need to take comprehensive measures, including the implementation of fuel and lubricants supplies to farmers through direct contracts, as well as through regional operators. It is equally important to ensure uninterrupted supply of fuel and lubricants to small-scale business entities.
Agencies have been instructed to ensure the formation of justified volumes of fuel at all stages of production and product sales, including delivery to retail outlets.
