The motorsport team of AZ “URAL” URAL MOTORSPORT successfully completed the final stage of the 2026 Russian Rally-Raid Championship – the Bakhla “Great Steppe.” The factory team crews demonstrated high equipment reliability and a fighting spirit on the most challenging track, taking fifth and sixth places in the truck category.
Fifth place in the race was won by the crew led by Yuri Naiman, which included navigator Alexander Shmelyov and mechanic Dmitry Utev. Sixth place was taken by the crew of Ivan Korolyov along with navigator Kirill Vorotnikov and mechanic Yegor Baranov. These results were a natural outcome of the tremendous work of the entire URAL MOTORSPORT team.
The steppe track only seems smooth: the route was full of pits, bumps, and hidden obstacles capable of disabling any equipment. The “Urals” completed the distance with minimal losses – without withdrawals or serious breakdowns.
“In the past season, our team handled almost all the tasks set before us, performing successfully not only in the Russian Championship but also at the international Taklimakan Rally 2026, where we earned the honorable third place, standing on the podium,” emphasized Evgeny Shpakovsky, Deputy Head of the URAL MOTORSPORT motorsport team, “Now we face a busy off-season and a large volume of tasks for the next year. But the team has already proven with actions that it is capable of handling anything. We thank our enterprise, the URAL automobile plant, our partners, and of course the fans who pushed us forward throughout the season!”
The URAL MOTORSPORT team is heading into an active preparation phase for the 2027 season. Engineers and mechanics will begin analyzing the data collected over the past year and upgrading the racing trucks so that the team can once again compete for the highest awards in rally raids in the new season.
