Roman Chuev has been appointed CEO of the airline Red Wings.
He has extensive competencies and significant experience in the aviation sector – previously, the top manager headed the Mineralnye Vody International Airport named after M. Yu. Lermontov.
The new leader will replace Igor Ivliev, the acting general director of Red Wings, who is the airline’s commercial director and took over Red Wings during the transition period following Alexander Lebedev’s departure. Igor Valentinovich will continue to work at the company.
Roman Chuev graduated from Saint Petersburg State University of Civil Aviation with a specialty in “Organization of Transportation and Transport Management (Air Transport),” as well as from Stavropol State University with a specialty in “Finance and Credit.” Roman Chuev has more than 20 years of management experience, 16 of which are closely connected to civil aviation: since 2010, he has headed the Mineralnye Vody International Airport. At the same time, from 2020 to 2026, he served as general director of “Novaport Holding” for the North Caucasus cluster, which includes the airports of Mineralnye Vody, Vladikavkaz, Stavropol, and Nalchik. He has been awarded the Order of Friendship and the Medal of the Order “For Merit to the Fatherland” II degree.
“My task is to consistently implement the development strategy of Red Wings, approved by the shareholders. It includes expanding the route network, flight geography, providing quality service for passengers, and much more. Red Wings will become one of the first operators of new Russian aircraft. We are facing the introduction of aircraft into commercial operation, training of crews and all personnel to work with new equipment. All of this—with the unconditional priority of flight safety. Together with the team, we will increase transportation volumes, relying on the experience and professionalism of the airline’s staff,” said Roman Chuev, CEO of Red Wings airline.
Today, Red Wings ranks 5th in Russia for passenger traffic on international routes and 9th for domestic routes. The airline is developing direct air connections between Russian cities. This helps to address the strategic goal of increasing the mobility of Russia’s residents and the accessibility of air transportation. Among the priority directions for development are: the Ural, Far Eastern, North Caucasian, and Southern federal districts, as well as the neighboring countries, the Asian region, and other international destinations.
