The roles in the film were performed by Anton Khabarov (Tsar), Liza Moryak (Kalisa), Ilya Masalsky (Prince Yelisey), Veronika Zhuravleva (Tsarevna), Evangelina Kozyreva, Galina Denisenko, Aleksey Grishin, Artur Mkhitaryan, Oleg Vereshchagin, Denis Yakovlev. The seven bogatyrs will be played by Stanislav Bondarenko, Aleksandr Metelkin, Anton Pampushny, Leo Kandelaki, Evgeny Shirikov, Anton Momot, and Anton Zhizhin.

The young princess lives in the palace with her father and stepmother, who hides her evil nature behind a mask of virtue. When the magical mirror declares the stepdaughter the most beautiful in the world, the jealous queen decides to get rid of her rival. Finding herself alone in a dense forest, the girl takes refuge in the house of seven warriors. Meanwhile, Prince Elisei sets out to search for his missing bride, unaware of the trials that lie ahead for them.

“We want to give new life to the beloved childhood fairy tale, preserving its spirit, the characters’ personalities, and eternal values. Our task is to tell this story in the language of grand contemporary cinema, combining large-scale sets, advanced visual technologies, and an atmosphere of true magic. Viewers will experience a familiar story in a completely new, unexpected, and spectacular form,” said the film’s director Sarik Andreasyan.

Tina Kandelaki, Deputy General Director of Gazprom-Media Holding, Director of TNT: “We often say that Pushkin is the sun of Russian poetry. But let’s be honest: with this phrase, we sometimes stop seeing how modern, alive, and incredibly vast an author he is. His works have everything: passion, daring, humor, and love worth fighting for. And so many details that you don’t uncover on the first reading! Look at how Alexander Sergeyevich is revealed today in cinema: ‘Onegin,’ ‘The Prophet. The Story of Alexander Pushkin,’ ‘The Tale of Tsar Saltan.’ And we are happy to continue this line with the story of the Sleeping Princess and the Seven Bogatyrs. Pushkin’s material alone is enough for his own cinematic universe!”

Tina Kandelaki also notes that today it is not enough just to be proud of Pushkin’s heritage. It is necessary to invest in it, to make big films for a wide audience, to make its heroes beloved by the new generation. So that a child will want to open and read Pushkin on their own. Not because it is required, but because they are truly interested, because they have already fallen in love with this world.
