Shanghai, November 4 /Xinhua/ — The 9th China International Import Expo (CIIE) will start on Thursday in the eastern Chinese metropolis of Shanghai. Russia, which has participated in the exhibition annually since 2018, will once again make a strong statement at the world’s first national-level expo entirely dedicated to imports this year.

The systematic work of the Russian Export Center (REC) – the organizer of the Russian exposition at CIIE – in promoting the “Made in Russia” brand confirms the strategic importance of the exhibition and the intention to expand Russian presence in the Chinese market.

According to REC, 63 Russian companies will participate in the collective exhibition “Made in Russia” at the 9th CIIE, of which 40 are small and medium enterprises (SMEs). 34 companies hold the “Made in Russia” certificate.

The area of the Russian booth will be 1,425 sq. m and will cover five thematic zones: food products and agricultural produce, consumer goods, trade in services, medical equipment and health products, as well as technological equipment.

Visitors to the exhibition will be able to get acquainted with traditional Russian products, distinguished by high quality and environmental friendliness, as well as with new export offers created taking into account the preferences of Chinese consumers.

At the current CIIE, an “old friend” of the exhibition will once again take a prominent place: the Russian exposition will bring together a whole range of well-known brands.

Among the participants are the agro-industrial group “Miratorg,” one of the largest producers and suppliers of meat products, the company “United Confectioners,” whose sweets preserve the taste of childhood and are associated with pleasant memories of several generations of Russians, LLC “SibPribor” with a line of natural food additives made from the unique raw materials of Lake Baikal…

In addition, at the EXPO there will be the debut of one of the largest consumer goods manufacturers in Russia, Arnest UniRuss, which will showcase cosmetic products from brands such as Velvet Hands, PURE LINE, and Forest Balm, which are well known in Russia.

For the first time, the trading company “LEADER” will also participate in the exhibition, offering future partners a wide range of basic products – sugar, flour, canned goods, and fruit juices.

The Russian exposition prioritizes not formal presence, but real results, noted Evgeny Bazhov, the REC General Representative in China, in an exclusive interview with the Xinhua correspondent. “An exhibition cannot exist just for the sake of exhibiting. The main goal of our participation is new contracts, repeat deals, as well as the development and expansion of the presence of Russian companies in all regions of China,” he emphasized.

For this, REC has prepared a dense business program: meetings with regional authorities and delegations from various provinces of China, as well as over 500 targeted negotiations for companies with distributors and importers. “We hope and are confident that there will be new contracts and that we will see more products on store shelves,” emphasized the general representative of REC.

The 9th China International Import Expo (CIIE) will be held in Shanghai from November 5 to 10. According to data, 162 countries, regions, and international organizations, as well as 4,142 foreign enterprises, will participate. The total exhibition area will exceed 440,000 square meters. -0-
