Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev, during a working trip to the Chechen Republic, assessed the implementation of key infrastructural and sectoral projects in the region.

In Grozny, Dmitry Patrushev, together with the Head of the Chechen Republic, Ramzan Kadyrov, reviewed the progress of the construction of a solid municipal waste processing complex. The facility’s production capacity will be 350 thousand tons of waste per year. Approximately 5 billion rubles have been allocated from the federal budget for its creation. Once commissioned, the enterprise will become an important element of the solid municipal waste management system in the region and will ensure the processing of more than half of the waste generated in the subject.

Special attention during the trip was given to flood protection of the territory. Dmitry Patrushev inspected new bank protection structures on the Fortanga River. The bank strengthening works will reliably protect the population and infrastructure facilities from threats associated with floods and other natural phenomena.

As part of the assessment of the region’s agro-industrial potential, the Deputy Prime Minister inspected the progress of the harvesting campaign, including corn harvesting and soil preparation for winter sowing. Dmitry Patrushev emphasized the importance of timely provision of all necessary material and technical resources to the farmers.

The Deputy Prime Minister also familiarized himself with the development of the testing system for purebred thoroughbred horses. Visiting the Grozny Hippodrome named after Said-Hussein Zakaev made it possible to assess the potential of one of the largest equestrian sports complexes in the country.

At a bilateral meeting with the head of the republic, Ramzan Kadyrov, prospects for the development of the agro-industrial complex, rural areas, and ensuring the ecological well-being of the region were discussed.

“One of the fundamental sectors for you is the agro-industrial complex. The government annually supports the development of the agro-industrial complex and rural areas in the Chechen Republic. In 2026, about 3 billion rubles from the federal budget are allocated for this. In 2025, farmers harvested record volumes of grain and oilseed crops. Besides this, we see positive dynamics in the development of meat and dairy livestock,” said Dmitry Patrushev.

The Deputy Prime Minister noted the republic’s active participation in the state program for the development of rural areas. Over the past years, a number of modern engineering and social infrastructure facilities have been built in the region, and more than a thousand families have acquired new homes or improved their housing conditions. This year, the state program’s activities include further development of areas related to housing provision (including through rental) and the construction of social infrastructure facilities in rural areas.

Work is also underway in the region as part of the national project “Ecological Well-being.” In particular, events are being held in the region to preserve forest areas. Dmitry Patrushev reported that in the coming years, a large-scale flood protection project is planned for Grozny.
