This year, the largest improvement projects in the Southwest of Moscow were implemented in Northern and Southern Butovo, the Lomonosovsky District, and Yasenevo. Sergey Sobyanin summed up the results of the work in his blog.

Severnoye Butovo: from running tracks to table tennis

Sports infrastructure is actively developing in Northern Butovo. Last year, a modern sports cluster was established in Butovsky Forest Park.

“This season, another modern space for active recreation has opened on Kulikovskaya Street, near house 3b. Previously, there was a wasteland here. In its place, a full-fledged stadium was arranged with professional running tracks, playing fields for volleyball and basketball, as well as stands for fans,” wrote the Mayor of Moscow.

The modern workout zone includes an obstacle course in the style of “Russian Ninja”, an open area with cardio and strength training equipment. Additionally, a place for table tennis was arranged and swings for the little ones were installed. Injury-safe flooring was laid in the functional zones, the paths were asphalted — they can be used for rollerblading or scootering, and comfortable benches were installed under sunshades.

Thanks to the new lighting and landscaping, the area has become much cozier.

Lomonosovsky District: cozy spots for relaxation

In the Lomonosovsky district, 54 courtyards were immediately brought into order and 83 cozy recreation areas were arranged.

Bright, injury-safe rubber flooring has been laid in the play areas, which provides excellent protection against bruises and does not slip in rainy weather. New swings, carousels, climbing frames, and educational playhouses have been installed.

On Arkhitektora Vlasova Street, near building 10, a new sports cluster has been opened. Here they have set up a football field, a basketball court, a workout area, and tables for table tennis. For strength training enthusiasts, a space with outdoor exercise equipment and a cardio zone has been opened.

Nearby, the area for dog walking and training has been completely rebuilt. Modern barriers, tunnels, and slalom poles were installed for the four-legged friends, and comfortable benches for their owners to rest on.

Another multifunctional sports ground has appeared on Vernadsky Avenue, near building 19. The old hockey rink has been replaced with a new one featuring modern rubber coating. In summer, this ground can be used for basketball and football, and in winter — for hockey on natural ice.

Thanks to new modern lanterns with energy-saving lamps, walking and training will be comfortable at any time of day.

Yuzhnoye Butovo: parking bays and modern exercise equipment

In Southern Butovo, landscaping was carried out in 30 courtyards at once. Modern impact-absorbing surfaces were laid on the playgrounds, new play towns, swings, and carousels were installed. The road and sidewalk surfaces were replaced, and additional parking bays were arranged for car owners.

At Chechersky Proezd, at building 56, blocks 1 and 2, a cozy walking area was created with comfortable benches under canopies and swings with pergolas. Previously, there were not enough places here for active recreation, but now two fully renovated playgrounds and a sports cluster with modern outdoor exercise equipment have been opened. Additional lamps were installed for comfortable and safe evening walks.

Yasenevo: football field and pet walking area

In Yasenevo, 29 children’s and five sports grounds, 20 recreation areas, and a pet zone have been refurbished.

“A huge sports cluster has been opened on Aivazovsky Street, at building 5, block 1. A football field, basketball and volleyball courts, two tennis areas, and a workout space with modern equipment have been set up,” Sergei Sobyanin said.

For those who prefer leisurely walks, comfortable benches and cozy pergolas have been installed. A separate modern area with barriers, slides, and tunnels has been created for dog training and walking.

New sports clusters, cozy courtyards, modern playgrounds, and well-designed pedestrian routes make life in the southwest of Moscow even more comfortable.
