Young Muscovites aged six to 11 are invited to attend classes in children’s restoration workshops. The program will include more than 20 theoretical and practical lessons. Training will begin on October 23 and last until December. This was reported by Natalya Sergunina, Deputy Mayor of Moscow.
“Graduates of the first cohort took part in the specialized exhibition “PROrestoration,” where they successfully demonstrated the skills they had acquired. The project gives young people the opportunity to try themselves in this field, while also learning more about Moscow’s architectural heritage,” noted Natalia Sergunina.
Applications are accepted until October 22 on the portal “Discover Moscow”.
Participants of the program will get acquainted with the features of restoring stucco details, mosaics, frescoes, and other decorative elements. In addition, they will have tours of cultural heritage sites such as the Moscow Palace of Pioneers, the Church of Peter and Paul, the A.V. Morozov estate, the Savvinskoye compound, the Northern River Terminal, and Pavilion No. 5 “Physics” at VDNKh. Attendees will also be told about the works done in the Italian Pavilion of the Ostankino estate, which has recently reopened to visitors.
