M. Mishustin: Good afternoon, dear Mr. Aref! I am glad to see you again.
First of all, I would ask you to convey words of greeting and the very best wishes to the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, from the President of Russia, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, and from me personally.
In September in Bishkek, and in October in Turkmenbashi, our leaders discussed the priority issues of developing Russian-Iranian cooperation. Our task is to ensure systematic work on implementing the decisions that were made at the highest level.
The relationship between Russia and Iran is based on the principles of friendship, mutual respect, and consideration of each other’s interests. We operate on the basis of the comprehensive strategic partnership agreement, which came into effect in October last year. Russia condemned the armed aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran. On the instructions of Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, we provided the friendly Iranian people with extensive humanitarian aid, including supplies of medicines and medical products.
At the Government level, we give priority attention to expanding trade and economic cooperation. Despite geopolitical challenges and illegal sanctions, our trade turnover increased last year and continues to grow.
