The Association of Cultural and Leisure Centers of the Western Administrative District (OKC ZAO) will launch the cultural and leisure project “Mos.Weekend” for children and their parents on October 24. On Saturdays and Sundays, educational, developmental, gaming, sports, and other activities will be held. On the opening day of the project, guests across all district venues will participate in workshops and interactive programs.
Training grounds
The program developed by the OKC JSC is designed for children and adolescents from six to 14 years old, as well as their parents. Classes will be held at the district’s cultural and leisure venues: in the club centers “Ramenki,” “Mozhaysky,” and “Troparevo-Nikulin,” at the cultural center “Rublyovo,” in the children’s park “Fili,” the district center “Meeting Place ‘Solntsevo,’” libraries, and other subdivisions of the OKC JSC.
“The ‘Mos.Weekend’ project offers weekends that can be usefully spent with children. The format combines education, creativity, and practical skills, and most importantly — everything takes place not far from home. Everyone has the opportunity to choose an interesting activity at a convenient venue and time,” said Anastasia Gladysheva, General Director of OKC ZAO.
For example, at the Rublyovo Cultural Center on Vasily Botylev Street (house 43), every Sunday from 11:00 to 14:00, there will be a program called “Theater Weekend” for children over four years old. The kids will get acquainted with the basics of acting: they will develop imagination, attention, and memory, learn to improvise, and better understand their emotions.
At the club center “Troparevo-Nikulino” on 26 Baku Commissars Street (building 4, block 2) from 10:30 to 14:30, game Saturdays “Samurai Code: Intelligence, Strength, Strategy” are scheduled. For children, active games, chess competitions, as well as robotics and judo classes have been prepared. Additionally, young city residents will be able to learn self-discipline.
At Library No. 208 on Belovezhskaya Street (building 39, block 3), from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, a celebration called “The Magical Birthday Child” has been prepared for the little ones. They will be told the story of the origin of Ded Moroz, the secret of his name, and then the children will embark on a virtual journey to his residence in Veliky Ustyug.
Productive weekend
On the launch day of the project, events will take place at various venues. For example, at Library No. 221 named after R.I. Rozhdestvensky on Aviatorov Street (house 7), from 10:00 to 13:00, young Muscovites aged nine to eleven can attend a session titled “One-Day Academy. Focus: flowers — the fading colors of summer.” They will be told why flowers have petals, why the daisy became a symbol of summer, why the sunflower reaches for the sun, and a passage from the fairy tale “The Flower with Seven Colors” will be read. In the creative workshop, they will be helped to draw their favorite spot in nature.
At library No. 216 on Michurinsky Prospekt (building 54a), from 11:00 to 14:00, an interactive program “Architecture and Design” is organized for children aged six to eight. They will get acquainted with the basics of design, learn how buildings are created, and try themselves as architects, designers, and engineers.
At the children’s park “Fili” on Bolshaya Filevskaya Street (house 9), from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, there will be an event “Family Weekend: Secrets of Transformation” for children aged six to eight. They will see the inhabitants of the petting zoo and observe their behavior. Additionally, children can have face painting done if they wish. In the director’s laboratory, they will explore the secrets of stage speech: for example, how to say a phrase sternly, cunningly, or kindly. Parents and children will choose roles and create their own fairy tale, which they will perform in a short scene.
At the Ramenskiy Club Center on Lobachevsky Street (building 100), from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, there will be a board games club for teenagers aged 12 to 14. Here, you can become the hero of your own story: the master leads the plot, while others choose roles — knight, traveler, or detective — and together decide how events will unfold. Some devise a rescue plan, others negotiate with the enemy, and some take risks for the team. Classic board games for the whole family are also prepared.
The “Mos.Weekend” project includes benefits and discounts for large families and children of participants in the special military operation. You can clarify the details with the site administrators or at the ZAO OKC call center by phone: +7 495 927-67-65 (daily from 10:00 to 20:00). The schedule and information about all project events until the end of December, as well as announcements for the New Year’s holidays, are published on website.
A large-scale project is presented on the mos.ru portal special project, dedicated to the development of key sectors of Moscow. These include transport, industry, healthcare, education, sports, and construction. The special project helps to learn how the capital has changed in recent years, what initiatives aimed at making the lives of city residents even more comfortable are currently being implemented, and what awaits Moscow and its inhabitants in the near future.
On the project page “Culture, Heritage, and Leisure Industry” you can learn about how architectural monuments are preserved in the capital.
