In the ZIL Cultural Center, subordinate to the capital To the Department of Culture, a permanent collection point for humanitarian aid for fighters of the special military operation (SMO) has been open for over six months as part of the ‘Parcel to a Hero’ campaign. It operates daily from 10:00 to 22:00. Necessary items for the fighters can be left at the administrators’ desk.

More than three tons of cargo were collected over six months. The first shipment took place in the summer: fire extinguishers, machine oil, chargers, food, clothes, and personal hygiene items were sent to the fighters.

Visitors can bring hygiene products and food. Information about the campaign and a full list of needed items are posted on project website.

In addition, on May 9, masterclasses on making trench candles and weaving symbolic “life bracelets” were held in the winter garden of the ZIL Cultural Center as part of the event. The resulting items were sent to the special military operation zone.

Visitors to the center also collected more than seven thousand books — both children’s and adult literature — which were handed over to the fighters and to new regions of Russia: the Lugansk and Donetsk People’s Republics, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia oblasts.
