Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova sent congratulations on the 10th anniversary of the Association of Wind Orchestras and Performers on Wind and Percussion Instruments “Valery Khalilov Wind Society.” The festive gala concert featuring leading ensembles of the country in the wind performance genre took place today in Moscow at the Zaryadye concert hall:

Dear Mikhail Arkadyevich! Dear friends!

Congratulations on the 10th anniversary of the Association of Wind Orchestras and Performers on Wind and Percussion Instruments “Valery Khalilov Wind Society”!

The legendary Valery Mikhailovich Khalilov, an outstanding military conductor, lieutenant general, People’s Artist of Russia, composer, and educator, founded an association dedicated to preserving the traditions of the Russian school of wind performance, developing and promoting Russia’s wind musical art. His devotion to the Fatherland, his desire to consolidate creative forces, and his care for nurturing young musicians undoubtedly defined the professional and moral guidelines of the association’s activities.

Over 10 years of work, the association has brought together musicians, conductors, orchestra leaders, arrangers, teachers from children’s music schools and art schools, music colleges and universities, as well as professional and amateur ensembles. The association has implemented more than 90 international and all-Russian projects involving over 35 thousand musicians across 83 regions of our country. Their total audience exceeded 2 million people.

It is important that today, thanks to the association, brass music is performed in the largest concert halls and open venues of Russian cities, uniting generations, helping to preserve historical memory, and fostering love for the homeland. Festivals, competitions, and educational programs held by the Valery Khalilov Brass Society revive interest in brass and percussion instruments, introduce new names, and bring the joy of encountering art to thousands of listeners.

The work of the association with children and youth is of particular importance, as it ensures the continuity of the Russian performing arts school and its future successes. Creative sessions and master classes, including those for young teachers, provide opportunities to learn from recognized masters, gain confidence in their abilities, and feel part of a large professional community.

I thank all members of the association for their dedication and devotion to their calling. Behind each of your successes lies hard work, responsibility towards your listeners and students, and the generosity with which you pass on knowledge and experience to the next generations.

I wish the Valery Khalilov Wind Ensemble to continue the work it has begun, filling it with new ideas and achievements, always receiving warm responses in the hearts of listeners, and many decades of successful activity for the benefit of Russian culture!
