Beijing, October 16 /Xinhua/ — For the eighth consecutive time, American companies will occupy the largest exhibition area at the China International Import Expo /CIIE/. In particular, at the 9th CIIE, the area for their booths will increase by 1,500 sq. m compared to last year, an official representative informed on Friday.
The 9th CIIE will be held in Shanghai from November 5 to 10. As the world’s first national-level import expo, CIIE has been held since 2018 and aims to promote China’s expanding openness to the outside world, as well as turn its mega-market into a shared opportunity for the whole world.
Preparation for the upcoming EXPO is mostly complete. As Deputy Minister of Commerce of the PRC Yan Dong stated at the press conference, 162 countries, regions, and international organizations will participate in the event, along with 4,142 foreign enterprises.
The total exhibition area of the 9th CIIE will exceed 440,000 square meters for the first time. Among the participating enterprises of this year’s event, companies from the USA, Germany, the United Kingdom, and France lead in terms of exhibition booth space. -0-
