Over 1.6 billion rubles will be allocated to the Kaliningrad and Nizhny Novgorod regions for the purchase of environmentally friendly public transport. Such orders were signed by the Chairman of the Government, Mikhail Mishustin.
Funds will come from the Cabinet’s reserve fund. With their help, at least 44 modern large-class buses powered by natural gas fuel will be purchased for operation on regular routes in the Kaliningrad region. This will increase the reliability of such transportation, make it more comfortable for passengers, and also reduce harmful emissions into the atmosphere.
In 2024–2025, more than 918 million rubles from the Government’s reserve fund were allocated for the purchase of trolleybuses for the Kaliningrad region.
For the residents of the Nizhny Novgorod region, at least 38 modern trolleybuses will be purchased with the help of allocated funds on financial leasing terms from one of the domestic manufacturers. These trolleybuses have an extended range of autonomous operation.
The issue was discussed at at the Government meeting on October 15.
“Deliveries of domestic equipment of modern classes should take place in the coming months. I ask the heads of the regions to keep control over the compliance with all established requirements and deadlines,” said Mikhail Mishustin.
