Sergey Sobyanin opened in the industrial park “Rudnevo”, one of the sites special economic zone (SEZ) “Technopolis Moscow,” a center for the design and production of Russian go-karts — electric and internal combustion engine (ICE) powered. It includes its own production facility, the largest karting track in Moscow with both covered and all-season outdoor circuits, as well as a karting academy.
“The industrial center in ‘Rudnev’ is actively continuing to develop. New large buildings are being constructed here. Already, 39 high-tech enterprises are operating. By the end of the year, about five more large enterprises will be opened. Today we are opening one of the largest karting centers in the country. And this is not just a sports facility, it is also a site for testing and manufacturing domestic karts. I hope that the production volume, which today is counted in tens, will be counted in hundreds, and the level of localization will significantly increase,” noted Sergey Sobyanin at the opening of the center.
For the construction of the karting center on the territory of the Rudnevo industrial park, the city allocated a plot of 3.5 hectares. The karting track became one of the largest in Russia: the length of the tracks exceeds 1.2 kilometers, and the total area of the facilities is 5.7 thousand square meters.
Today, nearly six thousand highly qualified specialists work at the “Rudnevo” site. Near the karting center, in the Nekrasovka, Kosino-Ukhtomsky, and Vykhino-Zhulebino districts, about 450 thousand Muscovites live, which guarantees its high demand. It is expected that the center will be able to accommodate more than two thousand visitors daily.
Production of Russian cards
The foundation of the karting center was a specialized production building with an area of 450 square meters. It houses the full cycle of kart creation — from designing and developing new models to serial assembly and testing.
“Our company as a manufacturer began its history in 2021. We spent two years coming up with, designing, and testing the first models. And currently, we supply karts to 27 karting tracks in Russia, including Saint Petersburg, Kaliningrad, Nizhny Novgorod. Right now, we are sending karts to Vladivostok and Kazan. So the geography is really extensive, including Novorossiysk and many, many cities in general. And 27 karting tracks is about 10 percent of all active karting tracks currently existing in Russia,” noted Alexey Yermilin, General Director of “Mix Kart.”
The production lineup includes electric karts and internal combustion engine vehicles for amateur riding and professional sports, as well as adaptive models for disabled drivers. In addition, they organize modifications of serial karts for specific races and operating conditions. Plans also include setting up the production of electronic components.
Today, the karts and spare parts produced by the company “Mix Kart” are used by more than 20 kart tracks across Russia. After the opening of the new center in the Rudnevo industrial park, the production of equipment is planned to increase by almost 1.8 times — to more than 350 karts per year.
“The new production site, I am confident, will allow us within the next two years to increase, firstly, the quantity of products from approximately 300 units this year to 400–450 in the next year or two. Plus, to establish the production of new models, which we already plan to launch here this year. To finalize testing and serially produce at least two more models,” said Alexey Yermilin.
In the future, the level of local production could reach 95 percent, including through the use of battery cells from the gigafactory of LLC “Renera.” It was opened in October 2026 on the territory of Moscow battery pack clusters SEZ “Technopolis Moscow”.
“The manufacturer has developed innovative software for remote control of the karts. It allows, if necessary, to stop the kart, receive timing data, and information about the condition of the equipment. This increases the safety of training and races, and helps to further improve the models,” said Sergey Sobyanin on his channel.

Locating an open track near the production site next to racing circuits will facilitate rapid testing of new kart models and shorten the path from design to practical application.
Indoor and all-season outdoor tracks
The covered racing track, 400 meters long, allows races to be held using both gasoline and electric karts. A special structural solution was applied in its design — a 50-meter wide span was constructed without columns. This will enable changing the configuration of the racecourse for different usage scenarios — from sports training sessions to amateur competitions and children’s activities. Next to the track, there are two classrooms for theoretical training in sports wrestling and kart driving.
The open track, 810 meters long, has been certified as Category C by the Russian Automobile Federation. This allows official competitions of various levels to be held — from city races to interregional championships. The open track can be used year-round, which is a significant advantage over the tracks of other karting circuits in Moscow and the Moscow region.
The track was equipped with a timing system, LED screens for displaying results in real time, traffic lights, photo-fixation equipment, and professional lighting. Thus, races can be organized at almost any time of day while meeting all safety requirements.
Special attention was paid to the comfort of residents of the adjacent neighborhoods. To minimize noise impact near the karting track, a protective screen with enhanced sound insulation was installed.
VR arena and relaxation area
The karting center has a unique multifunctional space — a VR arena. It can operate according to several scenarios:
— like a children’s area with animators, where parents can leave their children during training sessions and races;
— like a large classroom or lecture hall for conducting various activities for children in a playful form, including technical lessons on go-kart construction, as well as classes on the basics of traffic rules;
— such as a car simulator hall (simracing zone) with six professional trainers, where children (up to eight people) can learn driving skills using VR headsets.
For visitors, there is a café with a panoramic view of the racetrack, spacious changing rooms and lounge areas for pilots, as well as a playroom for the youngest guests.
The new karting center will become a venue for popular competitions and events in the field of motorsport. Among them is the phygital racing festival “Kartsim,” combining karting and sim racing, featuring well-known Russian racing drivers, bloggers, and journalists; the Miks Marathon Series — a 12-hour summer endurance race series; as well as the Miks Junior children’s championship. Pilots of various ages participate in these competitions — from seven-year-old children to adult athletes, and online broadcasts attract hundreds of thousands of views.
Karting Academy
The karting center in “Rudnev” will become the main venue for the karting academy “Mix Kart” — one of the largest Russian karting training centers operating in Moscow since 2014. Here, children will be able to learn driving skills, study the mechanics of the equipment, and become acquainted with the engineering aspect of motorsports.
Thanks to the new facility, the academy expects to significantly expand its capabilities for pilot training. The number of trainees will increase to 400 people per year.
The training of young athletes is structured as a full-fledged educational program. Training sessions are conducted on maps prepared specifically for this purpose, and a specialized sports hall is used to develop physical endurance, reaction, and coordination.
The basic course lasts seven to nine months and includes the theory of sports wrestling, practical training with three to four rounds within each session, and mandatory physical conditioning. Homework helps study competition rules and develop sports discipline. For example, the students become familiar with the system of signal flags used by referees during races.
An important part of the program is technical training. The trainees study the structure of the kart and analyze the features of the equipment’s operation. Having their own production facility will elevate the sessions to a new level. Children will be able to visit it, get acquainted with the operation of the equipment, design, assembly, and improvement of sports equipment. In many ways, this continues the tradition of engineering and technical education that used to develop in pioneer houses.
One of the key tasks of the new center is to make motorsport more accessible. Today, training requires significant expenses for equipment, practice, and participation in competitions. The production and concentration of all the necessary infrastructure in “Rudnev” will reduce this barrier and create a consistent development trajectory for the driver — from initial training at the academy to participation in an affordable motorsport program and further transition to professional competitions. For talented children, this is an opportunity to receive the necessary training, showcase themselves, and potentially attract the attention of well-known teams willing to invest in athlete development.
Development of adaptive karting
Another goal of the academy is to make motorsport more accessible and attractive to people with disabilities. At “Rudnev,” they will continue to develop adaptive karting and the inclusive section’s work, including with the participation of veterans of the special military operation. The number of regular participants is planned to increase to 100 or more, and the total attendance over the year is expected to exceed a thousand people. Drivers will be able to train on specially equipped karts with manual controls and compete alongside other athletes.
The company “Mix Kart” has established mass production of adaptive karts. More than 50 units have already been delivered to regions of Russia, including Saint Petersburg, Tula, and Novorossiysk. Currently, karts are being manufactured for Khabarovsk and Vladivostok. Locating production directly at the karting center will allow for the improvement of the vehicle design based on drivers’ experience and almost immediately test new solutions on the track.
The “Karting Without Borders” project has proven its effectiveness: the inclusive section team took second place in the 12-hour Miks marathon. The next stage in the development of this direction will be the expansion of the competitive program. In 2027, a major adaptive karting competition is planned to be held in “Rudnevo,” in which athletes from various regions of Russia will be able to participate.

Industrial Park “Rudnevo”
“Rudnevo” is an industrial park within the SEZ “Technopolis Moscow,” built in the eastern part of the city in record time to accommodate critically important industries. It is an example of a modern high-tech industrial park where it is convenient to work, study, and develop production and educational clusters.
The construction of the site began at the end of 2020. Domestic materials were used in the erection of the production buildings (for several items import substitution was completed at 100 percent) and modern technologies. This allowed the construction time to be reduced by 35–50 percent, and the cost of work by 10–15 percent.
Currently, over 20 production and administrative-business buildings have been constructed in “Rudnev,” with a total area exceeding 530,000 square meters. There are 39 high-tech companies operating here, of which 17 are residents of the SEZ, and almost six thousand jobs have been created.
Since October 2024, the flagship practical training center for Moscow colleges has been open in “Rudnevo.” The educational and production complex, covering an area of over nine thousand square meters, houses 21 workshops and laboratories. Students master in-demand fields, including mechanical engineering, electronics, and additive technologies. The center collaborates with leading engineering universities, including Moscow State Technological University “STANKIN” and Bauman Moscow State Technical University.
By 2030, the area of the industrial park is planned to be increased nearly threefold — to 175 hectares. Around 90 industrial enterprises will be located on the new territories. The total area of production and public-business spaces will exceed 1.2 million square meters.
As a result, about 14,000 more highly qualified jobs will be created in “Rudnevo,” primarily for residents of the rapidly developing Moscow districts of Kosino-Ukhtomsky, Vykhino-Zhulebino, and Nekrasovka, as well as the Lyubertsy urban district of the Moscow region.
Thanks to the SEZ regime, companies that are residents of “Rudneva” receive significant tax benefits. In particular, they are exempt from property, transport, and land taxes. The profit tax rate for them is only two percent. Residents benefit from a free customs zone regime and land lease concessions.
SEZ “Technopolis Moscow”
SEZ Technopolis Moscow is a territory with a special legal status, where a preferential entrepreneurial regime for investors operates. It was established in 2006, but its active development began after the project was transferred to the Government of Moscow in September 2016. Over 10 years, the SEZ has become the largest in Russia both in terms of investment volume and the area of operating enterprises.
For five years, the Technopolis Moscow Special Economic Zone has maintained its leadership in the National Ranking of Investment Attractiveness of Special Economic Zones of Russia. Furthermore, based on the results of 2025, the capital’s SEZ took first place among techno-innovative zones in the ranking of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation. It became the only one in the country whose efficiency was evaluated at the maximum 100 percent both for the reporting year and for the entire period of operation.
The total revenue of the enterprises in the SEZ “Technopolis Moscow” since its inception has reached 1.2 trillion rubles. At the same time, the revenue of the residents in the second quarter of this year increased one and a half times compared to the same period in 2025.
“Today, more than 250 high-tech enterprises are localized in the SEZ. Clusters operate on its territory: pharmaceutical, electric vehicle manufacturing, elevator construction, photonics, and microelectronics,” Sergey Sobyanin wrote.

The total area of 10 sites hosting high-tech enterprises exceeds 430 hectares. Currently, the SEZ has nearly 2.5 million square meters of industrial and commercial space built. By 2030, this figure is planned to more than double — to 5.7 million square meters.
Moscow Industry
Moscow is the largest industrial and scientific-engineering center of Russia. The city has 4,735 industrial enterprises employing 767 thousand people — almost every tenth person engaged in the capital’s economy.
The status of the main industrial and scientific center of the country defines Moscow’s unique role as a hub for the development and production of high-tech solutions in demand across Russia. It is here that key competencies in microelectronics, pharmaceuticals, power electronics, and radio-electronic engineering are formed, setting the development vector for the entire country.
In 2025, the revenue of all industrial enterprises in Moscow increased by 24 percent compared to the previous year, reaching 5.1 trillion rubles. Enterprises contributed about 375 billion rubles in tax payments to the city budget, which is 5.6 percent higher than the 2024 figure.
A key trend in the development of Moscow’s industry in recent years is the growth of high-tech sectors. While in 2020 their share in the total revenue of industrial enterprises was 30 percent, by 2026 it will already be almost 40. By 2030, practically half of everything produced in the capital will be directly related to innovations and advanced technologies, and the number of people employed in industry is expected to be around 850 thousand.
Today, the volume of industrial space in Moscow exceeds 13 million square meters, and by 2030 the city plans to double the modern high-tech infrastructure — to 25 million square meters.
Since the end of 2025, the volume of industrial space in Moscow has already increased by 0.7 million square meters — from 13.1 to 13.8 million. Of these, 0.3 million square meters were provided by the SEZ “Technopolis Moscow”. Today, the main industrial site occupies almost 2.5 million square meters. Another 0.4 million square meters were added in the capital thanks to projects by private investors implemented with the city’s support.
It is important to emphasize that industrial development in Moscow is closely linked with the environmental agenda. New productions implement modern green technologies, use energy-efficient solutions and closed-loop principles, thereby minimizing the impact on the environment and ensuring the preservation of a comfortable urban environment.
Furthermore, today most of the new industrial infrastructure is built on the principle of vertical integration, which allows for the compact placement of production, comfortable office spaces, scientific laboratories, and recreational areas for employees, including cafes, restaurants, and sports facilities, all within one territory.
