The Unified Open Day in clusters of secondary vocational education will take place on October 17. Schoolchildren and their parents will get acquainted with the opportunities of the federal project “Professionalism” of the national project “Youth and Children,” and learn about the prospects of studying in high-demand working specialties.

“For the Government, the development of the SPO system is one of the key priorities: infrastructure is being improved, and the championship movement is supported. Skilled labor specialists are being trained according to the task set by our President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin. As ASI research shows, most citizens highly appreciate the effectiveness of SPO graduates in the labor market. Very soon, a unified open day will take place in more than 1,700 colleges and technical schools participating in the federal project “Professionalism” of the national project “Youth and Children.” At this event, it will be possible to choose a future profession, communicate with teachers and future employers, and also participate in excursions to enterprises,” noted Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko.

On the eve of the unified open day, parent meetings will be held in schools with the participation of heads of regional executive authorities, as well as representatives of the largest regional companies. They will talk about training directions, admission conditions, and targeted education in colleges, as well as employment prospects.

“Parents play an important role in choosing a child’s educational path, so working with them is a mandatory part of the unified open day in SPO clusters. Moms and dads will be able to get answers to specific questions: what will be taught in college, where the student will do their internship, and what prospects they will have after graduation. A separate topic of such meetings is targeted training, which provides guaranteed employment at a specific enterprise. Importantly, from this year, applicants who have submitted an application for a targeted training agreement receive the right to priority enrollment in colleges and technical schools. The unified open day helps parents and schoolchildren understand all the nuances of admission and make an informed choice,” said the Minister of Education of the Russian Federation Sergey Kravtsov.

Class meetings titled “Professionalism: You’re in Good Company!” will also be organized in schools. Ambassadors of the project — students who will share their personal experiences studying at the “Professionalism” colleges — will speak at these meetings.

Schoolchildren will be able to get acquainted with various professions through professional trials. Excursions to enterprises will also be organized for the children and their parents.

“You can truly become passionate about a profession only through practice. It’s one thing to hear about a specialty in class, and quite another to visit a large enterprise and undergo professional trials. On this single open day, more than 5,000 tours at enterprises and over 15,000 professional trials are planned. Such experience changes one’s worldview: a teenager stops perceiving the profession abstractly, tries it on for size, and sees concrete prospects for development. Our goal is to give each student this chance to feel like a master and confidently decide on their future,” commented Sergey Kozhevnikov, Rector of the Institute for the Development of Professional Education.

The federal project “Professionalitet” was launched in 2022 and is aimed at synchronizing the workforce needs of enterprises with the capabilities of the secondary vocational education system in order to develop the country’s economy and ensure technological and personnel sovereignty. Student training is conducted in 24 priority sectors for the economy based on the requests of specific employers in the regions. In 2025, the federal project “Professionalitet” became part of the national project “Youth and Children.”

Currently, nearly 600 “Professionalitet” clusters in 86 regions of the country unite more than 1,700 colleges and technical schools and over 3,100 employer partners.

The federal operator of the “Professionalitet” project is the Institute for the Development of Professional Education.
