The solemn award ceremony for the winners of the All-Russian contest “Family of the Year” took place at the Grand Kremlin Palace. The best families of Russia received winner diplomas in six categories: “Large family”, “Young family”, “Rural family”, “Golden family”, “Family – keeper of traditions”, “Family of the Defender of the Fatherland”. The winners of the “Family Capital of Russia” contest were also announced during the ceremony.

“We have been holding the ‘Family of the Year’ contest for the 11th time and are pleased to honor the best families from across the country. This year, the contest received a record number of applicants: more than 11,800 submissions, which is almost a thousand more than last year. This indicates a growing interest in the contest and how important it is for our citizens to share their family experiences and traditions. We pay special attention to preserving family values and supporting families. All areas of our country’s development are configured in such a way that families can confidently look to the future, and that young people can make decisions about having children,” emphasized Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova while welcoming the contest participants.

The winners of the All-Russian contest “Family of the Year” were 89 Russian families, including 16 families in the “Large Family” category, 10 families in the “Young Family” category, 12 families in the “Rural Family” category, 12 families in the “Golden Family” category, 21 families in the “Family – Keeper of Traditions” category, and 18 families in the “Defender of the Fatherland Family” category.

“The All-Russian contest ‘Family of the Year’ once again demonstrated how many large and wonderful families we have. Such talented, bright, and original ones. And every year, the number of participants in the project grows. In the 11 years since the launch of the ‘Family of the Year’ contest, 50 thousand families have participated, but interestingly, exactly half of the participants are those who applied in the last two years. Our large families are becoming more active. They gladly share their parenting experience, expertise, and secrets of a long and happy family life. By the way, the number of large families among the contest winners is increasing year by year, including in the ‘Young Family’ nomination,” noted Minister of Labor and Social Protection Anton Kotyakov.
