Since the beginning of 2026, construction of five new residential complexes has begun in the Southern Administrative District (SAD) of the capital as part of the implementation renovation programs. The total area of apartments in new buildings will amount to almost 98 thousand square meters. This was reported by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Urban Planning Policy and Construction Vladimir Efimov.
“In the Southern Administrative Okrug, 378 old buildings are included in the current renovation program, with residential building updates covering 10 districts of the okrug — modern new buildings have already appeared in each of them. In 2026, the Moscow Renovation Fund began constructing five more facilities in two districts: residential complexes will appear in Tsaritsyno and East Biryulyovo. The new buildings are designed to include about one and a half thousand apartments with a total area of nearly 98 thousand square meters. The apartments will have convenient layouts: with separate rooms, spacious kitchens, and glazed loggias. Part of the apartments will be adapted for comfortable living for people with limited mobility, and all common areas will be built following barrier-free environment principles,” reported Vladimir Yefimov.
On the ground floors of new buildings, commercial premises with separate entrances are provided, where shops, pharmacies, order pick-up points, educational centers, and other everyday service locations can open.
The entrances will be divided into functional zones: entrance groups, spacious lobbies, and elevator halls. Concierge rooms and storage areas for baby strollers will also be located there.
Safe sidewalks with gentle slopes will be built in the courtyards, children’s and sports playgrounds, rest areas will be arranged, street lamps will be installed, and plants will be planted as well as parking areas equipped.
Moscow City State Construction Supervision Committee (Mosgosstroynadzor) issued building permits for all five houses.
“The work is being carried out under the supervision of the Moscow State Construction Supervision Committee. Inspectors have already conducted a total of nine on-site inspections, during which they assessed the quality of the structures being erected and the materials used. Specialists from ‘Control Moscow’ guarantee that the constructed buildings comply with the requirements of the design documentation and technical regulations,” noted the chairman of Mosgosstroynadzor.
Each residential complex is built according to an individual project and features a unique exterior, which allows them to harmoniously blend into the surrounding architectural environment.
New buildings are constructed in areas with good social and everyday infrastructure and transport accessibility. Nearby are metro stations, railway stations, city transport stops, educational and medical institutions, shops, and other in-demand services. In addition, parks and squares are located nearby.
The renovation program was approved in August 2017. It concerns about one million Muscovites and provides for the resettlement of 5,176 buildings. Sergey Sobyanin ordered to increase the pace of the renovation program implementation in two times. He also mentioned that nearly 120 families will move into the new building on Kavkazsky Boulevard.
