Work on upgrading public transportation continues across Russia. Among other things, new vehicles are being deployed on routes in the Southern Federal District, enhancing the comfort and safety of journeys for residents of the district’s regions. Since the beginning of the year, more than 150 units of public transport have been delivered to the Southern Federal District, Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin reported.

“The Southern Federal District has a high population density, active tourist flow, and growing cities and ports. Quality public transportation for this macroregion is a matter of life quality for millions of people. The state of transport affects accessibility to work, education, social facilities, and resorts. Including within the framework of the national project ‘Infrastructure for Life,’ a whole set of support mechanisms has been involved, which regions actively use. Since the beginning of the year, 153 units of equipment have been delivered to the Southern Federal District, and the work continues,” noted Marat Khusnullin.

The Deputy Prime Minister added that the largest number of vehicles were received by the Krasnodar Krai (68), Volgograd Oblast (49), Republic of Kalmykia (14), and the city of Sevastopol (12).

In 2026, 306 buses are planned to be delivered to the regions of the Southern Federal District under the leasing of wheeled vehicles through JSC “GTLK” and under the direct subsidy program of the Russian Ministry of Transport.
