An innovative Russian drug for melanoma therapy will begin to be manufactured at a pharmaceutical plant in special economic zone (SEZ) “Technopolis Moscow.” The company began transferring production to the site for the manufacture of the finished dosage form. This was reported by Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry.

“By the instruction of Sergey Sobyanin, the city is developing pharmaceuticals as one of the key sectors of the capital’s industry. A resident of the special economic zone produces a range of unique drugs at the site, including the first original Russian medicine for multiple sclerosis. Since 2021, the enterprise has produced more than 8.5 million packages of medications for the treatment of oncological and autoimmune diseases,” noted Maksim Liksutov.

The innovative drug combines two monoclonal antibodies — nurulimab and prolgolimab, which act on the CTLA-4 and PD-1 receptors and help the immune system recognize and destroy tumor cells. The drug is prescribed to patients who cannot have the tumor surgically removed or who already have metastases.

The original drug “Nurdati” for melanoma therapy is produced by the enterprise “Biocad.” Its manufacturing complex “PK-137” is located at the capital’s SEZ site and is part of the country’s largest pharmaceutical cluster.

“The creation of an original drug does not end with its registration and market launch. An important part of its life cycle is ensuring the healthcare system’s needs. The transfer of the drug to the SEZ site aligns with the goals and objectives of the Moscow Government in localizing drug production and is part of the company’s systematic efforts,” said Alexey Torgov, Deputy General Director for Corporate Relations and Communications of the company.

To start production, the company’s specialists will transfer and adapt technological processes, conduct validation, and undergo regulatory procedures. Manufacturing in the city will shorten the delivery path of the drug to metropolitan medical institutions, allowing Moscow patients to receive the necessary therapy more quickly.

The company’s production complex in the ‘Technopolis Moscow’ special economic zone covers 43,000 square meters. In 2022, a liquid dosage forms section was opened here, and in 2024, the production of divozilimab — a drug for the treatment of multiple sclerosis — was mastered.

Pharmaceutical companies from the SEZ ‘Technopolis Moscow’ increased their investments in the city’s economy by 1.6 times in January — June 2026A resident of the Moscow SEZ has increased production of a drug for multiple sclerosis therapy

In 2026, the Technopolis Moscow Special Economic Zone will celebrate its 20th anniversary. Over this time, the project has transformed from a launching pad for innovative projects into a key hub of domestic industry and a magnet for companies defining Russia’s technological sovereignty. Currently, on 10 sites of the Technopolis Moscow SEZ, totaling 430 hectares, production is localized for more than 250 high-tech enterprises. They represent strategic sectors such as microelectronics, instrument engineering, biomedicine, information technology, and robotics. The development of the special economic zone is managed by the city’s Department of Investment and Industrial Policy.

Moscow is actively developing industrial infrastructure for high-tech enterprises. Thanks to city initiatives, companies are increasing production output and launching innovative manufacturing. This contributes to the implementation of the national project “An effective and competitive economy”.
