Intellectual Games Cup, organized by the project “Youth of Moscow“, will take place from October 13 to November 17 on river electric vessels. Participants can expect a tournament consisting of five qualifying rounds in quiz format, with up to nine teams able to play at each stage.
“The quiz format on electric boats combines intellectual sport and discovering the city from the water. The participants not only test their knowledge but also learn to work in a team and find like-minded people. Anyone aged 14 to 35 can participate. The competitions are held on Tuesdays, departing from the Pechatniki pier. Registration is open in the group
“Youth of Moscow” on the social network “VKontakte”,” noted Margarita Savinkina, head of the “Youth of Moscow” project.
Format and schedule
The qualifying rounds will take place on October 13, 20, and 27, as well as November 3 and 10. Up to nine teams, each consisting of four participants, will be able to play in each round.
Two teams will advance to the final based on the results of each game. In the decisive match, nine of the strongest teams will face off. The winners will be awarded commemorative prizes. Teams that passed the selection, if there are available spots, will be able to participate in games during the season without counting towards the tournament standings.
Participation in the events is free of charge; only the transportation according to current tariffs must be paid.
How the game works
Each game consists of seven rounds with seven questions each. Six tasks will be in the classic quiz format, and the seventh will be organized similarly to a popular TV show. The topics of the questions range from the history of Moscow to the operation of city transport. The game will allow participants to demonstrate their knowledge and reaction speed, as well as showcase analytical skills and leadership qualities.
“Muscovites are increasingly choosing regular river electric transport not only for moving around the city but also for leisure. Every week, free events take place on board the electric vessels, including those for the younger generation. This is not the first joint event with the ‘Youth of Moscow’ project—previously, quizzes were held on the electric vessels. Now we are organizing the Intellectual Games Cup. This is an excellent opportunity to test your knowledge and enjoy a river trip. We will continue to develop regular river traffic and make it a part of urban culture, as instructed by Sergey Sobyanin,” noted the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry.
The “Youth of Moscow. Development” department organizes regular quizzes and other intellectual games for students. Participation in them allows young city residents not only to assess their level of erudition but also to develop skills in prompt decision-making, argumentation, and team communication.
Project “Youth of Moscow”, initiated in March 2020, is aimed at supporting and implementing youth initiatives. It provides residents of the capital aged 14 to 35 with access to various fields of activity, meetings with well-known personalities, career guidance, and the formation of healthy lifestyle habits. The Cup is held with the support of Committee of Public Relations and Youth Policy of the City of Moscow and metropolitan Department of Transport and Road Transport Infrastructure Development.
The “Opportunities for Youth 3.0” ecosystem unites modern measures to create conditions for youth self-realization. Young people can participate in developing innovative solutions, as well as try themselves in science, public service, and international cooperation.
Creating conditions for realizing the potential of young people in various fields corresponds to the objectives of the national project “Youth and Children”. More details about Russia’s national projects and the capital’s contribution can be found at special page.
