The national swimming team coach Anna Shchukina noted the team’s achievements: As a coach and head of the swimming team, I believe that the athletes gave their all. This is not the first time we have participated in the Student Water Sports League Cup. We learn from our mistakes and gain valuable experience from them. Since the competition is nationwide — the level of competition is extremely high. Despite this and some other circumstances, Polytechnic took first place in swimming in the “Masters” division, and together with our water polo teams won the main championship Cup of the SWLC.

I am very pleased with the organization of the competition and my performance. I was overwhelmed with emotions. It is joyful that the League is developing — the SLVVS competitions are no longer just a passing stage in the season, but a full-fledged tournament for which you prepare seriously and on which you want to win. This is real competition, strong opponents, a lively atmosphere in the stands, and the feeling of a major sporting event. Such competitions truly help you grow and reveal your potential. I showed a worthy time in all distances, which brought victory to me and the team. For me, this success has become a stimulus to grow further and improve my results,

Water polo

The women’s water polo team of Polytech became the winner of the All-Russian Student Competition “League Cup.” The men’s team lost only in the final and won second place.

It was our debut. The team performed admirably. I believe that we now have a very strong line-up with great potential. The girls give their all in every training session. It is evident that they are seriously focused on results, strive to improve, and are not afraid of challenges. The team is becoming more and more cohesive, and each athlete contributes to the common cause. I am confident that with such an attitude towards training and strong team spirit, great achievements await us ahead,” commented Maria Timofeeva, coach of the women’s water polo team.
