In the first part of the concert, the senior group of the ensemble will present the premiere of the choral cantata “Mass for Children with Love” by the young composer Lyubov Shangina, a graduate of the Moscow State Conservatory named after P.I. Tchaikovsky.
The Mass is specially written for multi-voice children’s performance, so that the complex theme about God becomes understandable for children, the difficult words of the prayers clear, and the music interesting. In the score, the composer alternates elements of academic music with jazz and reggae rhythms.
In the second part, all 250 choir members of various ages will sing 20 of the best children’s songs, including “The Ray of Golden Sun,” “Where the Wizards Live,” “You Are a Human,” “Here Comes a Strange Man,” “Captain, Captain, Smile,” and many others.
