At the “Innopolis Digital Days” forum, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko and the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov evaluated pilot projects in the field of artificial intelligence in education and science. The exhibition is divided into two thematic zones: “AI in Education” and “AI in Science.”
Dmitry Chernyshenko emphasized the importance of familiarizing employees of educational and scientific institutions with these pilot projects.
“Today, the exhibition featured around 40 pilot AI projects in the fields of education at all levels and science: educational courses, domestic AI agents, and neural assistants for teachers. They were developed by representatives of universities, scientific organizations, and technological companies of the country. Also presented here was the booth of the project ‘At the Heights’ by the All-Russian People’s Front, the launch of which we timed to coincide with the birthday of President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin. This project helps teach piloting and engineering skills,” said the Deputy Prime Minister.
The head of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Valery Falkov, and the head of the Ministry of Education, Sergey Kravtsov, also attended the exhibition bypass.
The development of artificial intelligence is a priority set by President Vladimir Putin. In July, the head of state signed a law supporting the development of artificial intelligence technologies. It created a regulatory framework for the development and implementation of AI solutions. On the instructions of Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, two dedicated projects were launched — “AI in Education” and “AI in Science.” Working groups together with universities, scientific organizations, and technology companies created pilot projects under them. These are presented at the exhibition.
In the “AI in Education” zone, solutions were showcased for general, secondary vocational, and higher education.
Higher education was represented by leading Russian universities: Innopolis University, RANEPA, MIREA – Russian Technological University, and National University of Science and Technology MISiS. Among the developments are services to assist university staff, students, and applicants. For example, services for detecting texts written by neural networks, an AI curator monitoring each student’s performance dynamics, a navigation service for students, and much more. The technologies were presented by university rectors and vice-rectors, as well as students.
In the section on secondary vocational education, AI solutions for the educational process of the College of Information Technology “IT.Moscow” and an AI mentor helping students acquire professional skills according to the competency matrix, developed by the Orenburg College of Economics and Informatics, were presented.
Among the exhibits for schools is the “01Mathematics” platform, which accompanies the student, builds personalized trajectories based on test and assessment results, and analyzes the problem-solving process through drafts; the “Hypermatic+” platform for supporting the teaching of algebra in grades 7–11, identifying and filling knowledge gaps, and preparing for the Unified State Exam in mathematics and physics; the AI platform “Teacher’s Assistant,” which helps teachers prepare for lessons, plan and conduct classes; as well as an AI textbook for high school students developed by Innopolis University, featuring interactive illustrations for studying mathematics, physics, optimization, and machine learning.
One of the exhibits in the “AI in Science” area was a service for training, delivering, and executing AI models “onboard” a machine tool from the Main Competence Center of the Machine Tool and Instrument Industry at MGTU “Stankin.” It adjusts operating modes in real time based on signals from sensors and detectors.
Also among the projects is the multi-agent platform ITMO CoScientist (ITMO University), which automatically assembles AI agents for research tasks and structures corporate data of scientific organizations; a digital AI assistant for analyzing the molecular structure of substances Spectralix AI (Innopolis University), which decodes mass spectra even for unknown compounds, determines the molecular formula, and predicts the substance’s structure; an AI assistant for chemists (Innopolis University and Skoltech) for retrosynthesis, predicting chemical reactions, and interpreting mass spectra; and the cloud platform “AI for Science” from Sberbank. The projects were presented by Lomonosov Moscow State University, Saint Petersburg Polytechnic University, the Kurchatov Institute National Research Center, Roscosmos State Corporation, and Rosatom.
The developments within the “AI in Science” section also include initiatives from research centers in the field of artificial intelligence. The Government provides support to such centers that have passed a competitive selection process, following the directive of President Vladimir Putin. They operate within the framework of the national project “Data Economy and Digital Transformation of the State.”
The exhibition featured a booth for the “At Height” project of the People’s Front, aimed at promoting civilian use of UAVs. Recall that on October 7, First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of Russia Sergey Kiriyenko and Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko officially launched it.
“Digital Innopolis Days” is the main forum of Innopolis University, held since 2021. Over five years, the international forum on artificial intelligence, robotics, and education has brought together 15,107 in-person participants from more than 500 cities in Russia and 30 countries, with 1,325 experts delivering educational lectures. The organizer is Innopolis University.
