Beijing, October 8 /Xinhua/ — The China Coast Guard (CCG) on Thursday issued a warning to the Philippines to immediately cease infringements on China’s rights, provocations, and false speculations after a Philippine Coast Guard ship evacuated an injured person from a vessel illegally grounded near Ren’ai Reef.

As stated by the official representative of the POC Jiang Lue, on Thursday the Philippine Coast Guard ship 4409 proceeded to the waters near Ren’ai Reef to evacuate one injured person from a vessel illegally grounded there.

According to him, based on humanitarian considerations, the Chinese side immediately allowed the Philippine side to evacuate this person on a small boat, and the BOC took measures in accordance with the law and established rules, providing the necessary assistance.

Jiang Lue pointed out that the relevant statements by the Philippine side ignore the facts, presenting black as white in an attempt to mislead the public.

China has indisputable sovereignty over the Nansha Archipelago, including Ren’ai Reef, and the adjacent waters, emphasized the official representative of the BOC. –0–
