Members of the Zelenograd association “Mother’s Heart” have delivered over 20 tons of essential items to the fighters of the special military operation (SMO). The movement appeared in August 2025, during which time activists have organized 15 humanitarian trips.
The initiator of the project was kindergarten teacher Svetlana Sokolikova. She was driven by the desire to support her son, who is carrying out combat missions during the special military operation, and his fellow servicemen. About 100 people have already joined the association.
“The volunteer group has been joined by teachers, pensioners from Zelenograd, and parents of servicemen. Thanks to their concern, we can regularly visit the fighters. They admit that they always look forward to our visits because each meeting reminds them of home,” shared Svetlana Sokolikova.
Humanitarian cargo is delivered approximately once a month. The parcels include electric generators, specialized backpacks, thermal underwear, fully equipped first aid kits, as well as hygiene products. Gas canisters are always in demand among the fighters, usually between 120 and 150 of them are sent.
Activists also collect tea sets, deliver homemade food and preserves. On festive dates, including Defender of the Fatherland Day, they bring gifts to the fighters.
Other local groups also assist the servicemen, including “Kryukovo/Zelenograd — To Donbass!”, “Mother’s Protection”, “Zelmaskirovka”, with a total of about 25 organizations. Those wishing to join the aid collection can contact the veterans’ council by phone: +7 499 738-82-65.
