October 8 is annually celebrated as the Day of Additional Education Worker. Sergey Sobyanin congratulated the educators on the holiday on his channel in the messenger ‘Max’.
“ In the capital, tens of thousands of educators work in this field — every day they help children reveal their talents. Currently, 140 thousand are open in Moscow
clubs and sections — five thousand more than last year. More than 1.5 million young Muscovites attend classes there. That is almost 90 percent of children aged five to 18,” wrote the Mayor of Moscow.

Under the guidance of supplementary education teachers, young Muscovites master creative, sports, natural science, and technical fields, as well as study foreign languages. The children demonstrate success in citywide, all-Russian, and international competitions and talent contests.
“Such guys lay a solid foundation for the future development of the capital,” added Sergey Sobyanin.
