The Children’s Center of the Museum of Moscow invites you to interactive classes dedicated to the capital, its history, events, people, and landmarks.

Participants can expect several topics:

— “Moscow to Muscovites,” which will introduce visitors to the oldest monuments from the museum’s collection and tell how people lived in ancient times. Archaeological finds will help imagine the habitat of ancestors and answer the question: “What was there before the city existed?”.

— “Our ancient capital,” where listeners will learn how old Moscow is, from which event the city’s chronicle history began, how the first fortress was built, and how the city grew and changed. Guests will also see authentic monuments of ancient Moscow, admire the watercolors of A.M. Vasnetsov, and models of the Kremlin — the oak one from Ivan Kalita’s time, the white-stone one from Dmitry Donskoy’s era, and the one built under Ivan III.

— “Interesting Moscow,” dedicated to the most interesting sights of the capital in ancient times and today. The children will learn about the main square and the tallest structure, about unusual houses and streets, about rivers and bridges, as well as about museums, parks, and estates.

— “Ancient Moscow. The City and Its People” will tell about the everyday life of Muscovites in the 15th–17th centuries. Archaeological finds — clothing, footwear, household items, musical instruments, children’s toys — will help to imagine the life and traditions of the ancestors.

Hosts are historian Tatyana Voznyuk and historian, musician Evgeniy Voznyuk.
