The “Active Citizen” project summed up voting, in which city residents chose the best photos of summer events in the media bank “Mosphoto”. Many of them have become part of the urban project “Summer in Moscow”.
More than 180 thousand residents of the capital participated in the voting. In each of the four categories, citizens selected five favorites. A selection of photographs has already been presented in special album.
In the nomination “Moscow Concert” footage capturing the atmosphere of musical events, street performances, and spectacular shows. Among the photos noted by the townspeople are pictures from the circus art festival “Idol-2026,” the “Spasskaya Tower” festival at the Tsaritsyno museum-reserve, and the Moscow Jazz Festival in Zaryadye Park. Favorites also included shots from the “World Rock Hits” concerts in the green theater of VDNH and “Lumisfera. Magical Symphony in the Park and Eight Thousand Candles.”
Nomination “Moscow Sports” brought together the best shots revealing the dynamic sports life of the city. The leaders of the voting were photos from the “Hydrofly Festival” in Izmailovsky Park and demonstration performances of motor freestyle held as part of the “Moscow Sports Day.” In addition, Muscovites highly appreciated photographs of the cycling stage of the Moscow Mayor’s Cup in triathlon “226,” as well as a shot of an athlete performing a diving jump from a height at the “Two Rivers” festival.
In the category “Moscow Theatrical” They presented the cultural events of the summer. The festival “Theatrical Boulevard” attracted special attention from the townspeople. During the voting, Muscovites chose three photos from its venues: shots from the opening of the festival, as well as photographs of the ballet performances “Swan Lake” and “Don Quixote.” The top five also included photos of the theatrical show “The Little Mermaid” at the Moskvarium and the concert “The Magical World of Russian Ballet” in Zaryadye Park.
Nomination “Blooming Moscow” revealed the beauty of the green spaces of the capital. Participants in the voting especially highlighted photographs of Manezhnaya Square, Patriarshiy Bridge, and Bolshoi Kamenny Bridge, which were transformed thanks to the “Gardens and Flowers” festival. The spaces were decorated with greenery, petunias, and tropical plants. The thematic selection by “Mosphoto” will also include summer shots of Vorontsovsky Park and the large rose garden in Sokolniki Park.

“Summer in Moscow” — the main event of the season, which has already become a good tradition and an integral part of the city’s life. The main theme this year is “Time to be together.” The project united people of different generations around common values, allowing them to get closer not only to their relatives but also to the whole city through walks, cultural and sporting events, charity actions, as well as near their homes in all districts of the capital.
Project “Active Citizen” has been operating since 2014 and during its operation has united more than seven million participants. More than 7,900 votes have been held on the platform. Every month in Moscow, from 30 to 40 decisions proposed by residents are implemented. The project is developed by the State Public Institution “New Management Technologies” and Department of Information Technology of the City of Moscow.
