In the pavilion “Smart City” At VDNH on Saturday and Sunday, October 10 and 11, there will be a festive program dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the project. It is called “10 years #Together” and tells how the pavilion has developed along with Moscow, introduces city services and technologies in an interactive format. Guests can expect master classes, quizzes, robot races, and other events.
“Over 10 years, more than 1.3 million people have visited the ‘Smart City’ pavilion, and the exhibition has grown by more than one and a half times. For the anniversary, we have prepared a program that shows how technologies are becoming part of everyday life. On the first day, guests will learn how robots work and how they assist humans: they will assemble their own racing robot car and see how a mobile robot rover operates. The second day will be dedicated to a festive mood — you can watch a play, listen to music, and dance, as well as meet beloved characters. It’s a great opportunity to spend the weekend with the whole family and learn a lot of new things about the capital’s advanced digital technologies,” said Anastasia Sharova, head of the exhibition activities department of the capital.
Earlier, Sergey Sobyanin said that today the pavilion unites nine exhibition spaces. It features more than 80 interactive exhibits showcasing innovations in transport, medicine, education, and the urban environment. To mark the anniversary of the “Smart City,” the project team also created special website, where you can learn about the main milestones in the history of the multimedia exhibition and the achievements over 10 years of the pavilion’s operation.
October 10: “Together. Technologies”
The first day of the festive program is dedicated to getting acquainted with technologies. Through demonstrations, experiments, and other practical activities, guests will learn how scientific solutions become part of modern life. From 10:00 to 20:00, there will be an online quiz with questions about the pavilion, and an art space with coloring books and board games will be open.
From 12:00 to 19:00, visitors to the pavilion will be able to join the “Hello, Robot!” program. They will be greeted by a guide — an interactive humanoid robot on a wheeled platform. It will move freely around the space, communicate with guests, and draw attention to the anniversary program events.
In addition, there will be a mobile robot rover on display. It will demonstrate how modern robotics technologies and autonomous platforms operate. Visitors will learn about its operating principles and take photographs.
From 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, there will be robotics master classes. For example, in the “Racing Robots” session, participants will assemble a racing robot car and learn the basics of programming and control. At the end, teams will launch their robots on a special track and see whose car reaches the finish line faster.
At the workshop for children “Helper Robots,” participants will be able to create robots that hunt snowballs. In a playful manner, kids will learn how robots assist humans and then test their creations in a competition for speed and efficiency.
You will be able to sign up for the master classes at the reception desk.
October 11: “Together. Impressions”
The second day will be dedicated to vivid emotions. Visitors will be able to participate in an online quiz, and at 3:00 PM and 5:30 PM watch the play “Fixie Show.” Guests will be greeted by beloved characters and music. After each performance, it will be possible to meet the heroes and take memorable photos.
Participation is free, registration is at official website.
