MOSCOW — The first month of operation of the new Rublyovo-Arkhangelskaya line of the Moscow Metro confirmed the high demand for the new underground artery of the capital. In the first 30 days, passengers made over 850 thousand trips, and the average daily flow on working days exceeded 34 thousand people.

The launch of the line with the participation of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin improved transportation services for more than 550 thousand residents of five districts of the capital. Travel time to the center was reduced by 3 times. The line provided convenient integration with the city’s key arteries — the Filevskaya, Solntsevskaya, and Large Circle lines, as well as the MCC. The most popular stations are “General Karbyshev Boulevard,” “Delovoy Tsentr” in the financial district “Moscow-City,” and “Zvenigorodskaya.”
Only ultra-modern next-generation trains “Moscow-2026” operate on the line. In one month, the trains have covered over 150,000 kilometers, which exceeds the length of three Earth’s equators. The project is ongoing: next year, the next section to the “Novorizhskaya” station will open, and in the future, the line will reach Krasnogorsk in the Moscow region.
“By the order of Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin, we continue to develop high-speed rail transport. The Rublyovo-Arkhangelskaya line has connected growing residential districts with the main business center of the capital. Thanks to this, passengers have received new comfortable routes, and travel times have been reduced threefold,” said Moscow Deputy Mayor for Transport and Industry Maxim Liksutov.
