The company “Elastic Technologies,” which produces therapeutic compression knitwear, has obtained the status of a resident of the Technopolis Moscow special economic zone (SEZ). The enterprise will now be able to benefit from tax incentives and direct the saved funds toward developing production and creating new jobs. This was announced by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry. Maxim Liksutov.

“By the order of Sergey Sobyanin, we continue the consistent development of the medical industry in the capital. An effective tool to support enterprises producing modern medical devices is granting them the status of a resident of the Moscow Special Economic Zone. Such companies are fully exempt from paying property, transport, and land taxes, and their profit tax rate is reduced to two percent. This allows businesses to direct the saved funds towards modernizing production lines and expanding their product range. The new resident produces a wide range of hospital and therapeutic compression knitwear. The investment volume in the project exceeded 300 million rubles, and more than 20 new jobs have been created,” said Maksim Liksutov.

Since the start of the technological lines’ operation, the enterprise has produced over 100,000 units of compression medical stockings, knee-highs, and tights. The uniqueness of the manufacturing process lies in the knitting technology and special materials that allow creating products with precisely specified parameters of graduated compression. The products will replace medical compression items that were previously supplied from Switzerland, Turkey, and China.

The company opened its production with the assistance of the Moscow Fund for the Support of Industry and Entrepreneurship, which compensates part of the interest payments on loan agreements. The production of full-cycle medical compression products is a capital-intensive project: the main costs are associated with high-tech knitting equipment.
