An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

What do the music of Russian composers Sergei Prokofiev, Alexander Gedike, and German composer Max Reger have in common? At first glance — only chronology. However, much more unites them: they are great architects of sound, reinterpreting the strict legacy of Johann Bach through the prism of the turbulent and rebellious 20th century.

The concert program at the S.S. Prokofiev Museum performed by the chamber ensemble “Novel” is a rare opportunity to trace how the classical form has transformed, giving birth to an entirely new musical language.

Performers — Moscow Chamber Ensemble “Novell”: Ksenia Odintsova (soprano, artistic director), Yaroslav Azanov (clarinet), Natalia Yakhont (harp), Natalia Peshekhonova (piano), Maksim Zolotorenko (cello). Host — Andrey Vozny (cultural expert).

Duration is 75 minutes without intermission.
