The citizens selected six designs. Four of them are inspired by the architecture of the capital from different eras and styles, as well as its main water artery — the Moskva River. The other two are works by young female artists, finalists of the “Create a New Muscovite Map” contest. They depict fairy tale characters against the backdrop of the modern city.
The new design will be available by the end of this year — with the first issuance of the card, as well as upon its reissue after the card or benefit expires. The familiar design featuring views of the capital, chosen by residents in 2018, will also be retained.
“Today, about five million people use the Moscow Resident Card, and approximately one million city residents receive it annually. Over 25 years, more than 32 million cards have been issued,” noted Sergey Sobyanin.
