Dmitry Chernyshenko and Sergey Kravtsov congratulated teachers on Teacher’s Day.
Every year on October 5th, Teacher’s Day is celebrated. Educators are honored throughout the country.
Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko and Minister of Education Sergey Kravtsov congratulated teachers on their professional holiday.
“Teacher’s Day is a special day. It is a wonderful occasion to sincerely thank each of the more than 1 million school teachers and about 170 thousand instructors and vocational training masters in colleges. As our President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin notes, educators care for students as if they were their own family, striving to impart and instill values that unite us as one people, one country,” said Dmitry Chernyshenko.
The Deputy Prime Minister noted their contribution to the implementation of the national project “Youth and Children”: “It is teachers who pave the way to victories in international Olympiads, develop the abilities of our children, and most importantly – love and support them. I wish every educator good health, well-being, and grateful students.”
All-Russian professional competitions are held for teachers, including the most prestigious and oldest one – “Teacher of the Year Russia.” By the order of the President of Russia, since 2022 the “Cool Topic!” project has been implemented, whose winner receives their own original show on a federal channel. These contests unite teachers from all over the country every year.
“At all times, a teacher has been both a guide into the world of knowledge and a keeper of moral reference points. Today, you continue to pass wisdom to children, awaken in them a thirst for discoveries, and teach them to love their Homeland. It is precisely at school that a solid foundation is laid, enabling our country to achieve scientific and technological heights,” noted Minister of Education Sergey Kravtsov.
He added that support for teachers is an unconditional priority for the state: “A symbol of this attention is the decree of the President of Russia on additional measures to support teachers. This document signifies the strengthening of the prestige of your profession and the creation of decent working conditions. We continue to build new schools and renovate existing ones so that you work in a comfortable environment and children study in modern buildings. It is gratifying to see how professional skills competitions attract young people: more and more young talents are choosing the path of a teacher, becoming a reliable support for Russia’s future.”
The Ministry of Education continues systematic work to support teachers. For example, the list of reports required from teachers has been reduced to five documents, and Order No. 704 has been introduced, providing for lesson-by-lesson planning.
Our country is also famous for pedagogical dynasties: there are more than 500 such families in Russia, many of which trace their history back to the 19th – early 20th century. The total experience of some dynasties exceeds 1,000 years.
