An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

This is an exciting dramatic story about life and love, which is always stronger than death. It is a tale about a man who observed life from the outside, but one day found himself inside it.

Fragments of Chekhov’s prose, plays, and letters create a single vivid space where the real life of Anton Chekhov, his literary characters, the women he loved and who became part of his texts — and the modern audience, who recognize themselves in the heroes — all mingle.

A live Spanish guitar is played in the performance — works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Alexander Vertinsky, Charles Aznavour, Francisco Tarrega, Consuelo Velázquez. The characters sing live in Russian, French, and English.
