The all-Russian youth hackathon for students and professionals in the IT industry, industrial design, manufacturing, and related specialties will take place from October 23 to 25. The total prize fund of the event will be 2.5 million rubles. This was announced by the Minister of the Moscow Government, head of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy Anatoly Garbuzov.
As part of the competition, participants will have to solve five real industrial problems provided by leading high-tech enterprises in Moscow. The best developments will be integrated into the capital’s industrial sector ecosystem.
“The capital’s industrial sector is developing rapidly. There are 4,735 manufacturing enterprises operating in the city, employing 767 thousand people — practically every 10th person engaged in the metropolis’s economy. The hackathon, organized under the auspices of the project ‘Open#MosProm,’ is, on one hand, an opportunity for the city to showcase to the younger generation real advanced technologies and the scale of the capital’s industry. On the other hand, for talented students and emerging specialists, it is a chance not just to prove themselves but to offer practical solutions that can be implemented at a specific enterprise,” noted Anatoly Garbuzov.
The competition will take place at the “Pechatniki” venue special economic zone “Technopolis Moscow” within the framework of the International Investment and Industrial Forum (IIIF). Students and professionals in the fields of IT, industrial design, manufacturing, analytics, data science, project management, and related areas aged 18 to 35 are invited to participate. Applications can be submitted until October 21.
Participants will have the opportunity to try their hand at developing an AI assistant to assist in personnel adaptation, creating an intelligent service to monitor industrial safety violations through video from cameras on Russian AI accelerators LinQ, preparing a service for automatic selection of FDM 3D/5D printing parameters, developing a concept for a showroom of a laser equipment manufacturer, as well as creating a digital tool to attract young specialists.
To apply for participation, you need to go to website of the project, register, fill out a questionnaire in the personal account, assemble a team of like-minded people (from three to five people), and choose a case to solve at the hackathon. The competition will take place in a hybrid format — it will be possible to work on the tasks both online and directly at the event venue.
