Dmitry Chernyshenko and Mikhail Degtyarev took part in the presentation of the XIV International Sports Forum “Russia – a Sports Power” (RSP) for representatives of the diplomatic corps. “The International Sports Forum ‘Russia – a Sports Power’ is a leading platform for shaping development plans in the sports sector, exchanging best practices, and expanding international cooperation. The forum’s presidential format confers a special status on it. Traditionally, the main event will be the plenary session, which is expected to be attended by the President of Russia, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin. In less than a month, from October 21 to 23, the fourteenth forum will take place in Krasnoyarsk, bringing together representatives from the sports communities of Russia and foreign countries. It is symbolic that the forum will be held on the eve of the 400th anniversary of Krasnoyarsk, which the city will celebrate in 2028,” said the Deputy Prime Minister.
He added that as part of the forum, a meeting of the Council under the President for the Development of Physical Culture and Sports will also take place. The main venue for the RSD will be the international exhibition and business center “Siberia”..
“Krasnoyarsk has modern sports infrastructure and extensive experience in hosting major international competitions. Forum guests will be able to participate in the business program and get acquainted with the history and cultural heritage of Siberia,” emphasized Dmitry Chernyshenko.
In conclusion, the Deputy Prime Minister invited representatives of the diplomatic corps to participate in the forum.
“Over the years, the Forum has gone beyond the national framework and has become one of the largest international-level sports business events, an important meeting point for the international sports community. This year in Krasnoyarsk, we expect the participation of more than 20 sports ministers, heads of national Olympic committees, representatives of international intergovernmental organizations – including UNESCO, SCO, ASEAN, CIS, the Asia Cooperation Dialogue, and the Anti-Doping Agency.”
The international agenda of the forum is expanding: one-third of all sessions and roundtables are planned to include foreign delegations and will be dedicated to issues of international sports, the Olympic movement, sports diplomacy, and combating discrimination in sports. The President of the International Olympic Committee, Kirsty Coventry, in an official letter, wished us success in holding the forum.
“We are open to dialogue, invite everyone to the forum, and are ready to discuss the most pressing issues of sports development and strengthening international cooperation in new formats and exchange of experience,” emphasized Mikhail Degtyarev.
Also, within the framework of the event presentation, the Roscongress Foundation introduced the architecture of the business program a forum comprising about 40 events, structured into four thematic blocks. The key event will be a plenary session dedicated to the role of sports in expanding international cooperation.
“The business program now consists of 4 thematic blocks: we create, collaborate, win, and develop. And the main theme of the forum is ‘Sport: uniting the world in an era of change.’
I would like to note that the forum is developing as an effective platform for international communications. Maximum hospitality measures are provided for foreign participants to ensure their stay in Russia is comfortable and meaningful. At all stages of preparation for the forum and during their stay in Russia, delegations are accompanied by liaison officers. Each delegation receives high-quality informational support.
Krasnoyarsk is the largest center in Siberia, and the region has prepared a rich program for foreign guests that will reveal all the beauty and hospitality of this unique place,” commented Darya Silaeva, head of the Sports and Spectacle Events Organization Directorate of Roscongress.
