An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

The Western Administrative District is seeing more and more opportunities for regular sports activities. A modern approach helps make an active lifestyle the norm and strengthens relationships among local residents: at training sessions people meet each other, support one another, and celebrate their first successes together.

Various clubs are open for children in the district. For example, playing chess at the Semya sports and wellness complex on Pokryshkin Street (building 3) trains logic and the ability to make decisions calmly. At the Ramenskiy Sports Complex (SC) on Ramenki Street (building 19, structure 1), older kids and adults are invited to floorball — a dynamic team sport that teaches how to act together and support teammates.

For city residents aged 45 and older, groups for badminton, table tennis, and swimming have been organized at the “Solnechny” sports complex on 50 Let Oktyabrya Street (building 2g). Training sessions are conducted at a comfortable pace, taking into account the individual characteristics of the participants.

Project “My Sports District”

Project “My sports district” makes sports even more accessible through training in open areas — in parks and courtyards, easily reachable on foot. Here, you can try different formats — from running and volleyball to yoga, zumba, and wushu. Such activities help relieve everyday tension, take a break from work and household concerns, and see familiar places in a new way — as spaces for movement and good mood. For example, jogging in the 50th Anniversary of October Park or yoga classes in Ochakovo-Matveyevskoye can become a healthy habit that improves physical and emotional health.

The training schedule is designed to fit into the usual rhythm of life: there are morning, afternoon, and evening groups depending on the day of the week. The locations have also been planned — throughout the district, close to residential buildings.

To attend the training, you need to register in advance on the project’s website, choose the location, date, and time. You must arrive 5–10 minutes before the session begins. Clothing and shoes should be sportswear and appropriate for the weather.

The training sessions are organized By the Moscow Department of Sports. The project corresponds to the goals of the state programs of the Russian Federation “Development of Physical Culture and Sports” and “Sport of Russia”, as well as the information campaign «Motivation for Sports Participation and Promotion of Sports Infrastructure». One of the goals is to increase the share of citizens who regularly engage in physical culture and sports to 70 percent by 2030. The capital makes a decisive contribution to achieving this task. Special attention is given to the close proximity of infrastructure, support for families with children, as well as the integration of participants and veterans of the special military operation and their family members into the sports community. More about Russia’s national projects and the capital’s contribution can be found at special page.

Find out how the capital has changed over the past years, what initiatives aimed at making the lives of city residents even more comfortable are currently being implemented, and what awaits Moscow and its inhabitants in the near future in the large-scale special project on the portal mos.ru, dedicated to the development of key spheres of Moscow. Among them are transport, industry, healthcare, education, sports, and construction.

On the project page “Sport” Information is presented about the reconstruction of dozens of historic sports facilities, including the Olympic complex “Luzhniki”, the ski complex “Vorobyovy Gory”, and the equestrian complex “Bitza”, as well as about sports infrastructure accessible to every city resident.
