Dmitry Chernyshenko held a working meeting with the governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Mikhail Kotyukov.
Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko held a working meeting with the governor of Krasnoyarsk Krai, Mikhail Kotyukov. They discussed the development of education, youth policy, sports, and tourism in the region.
“The Krasnoyarsk Territory is betting on youth – this is a key investment in the country’s future. Conditions are being created here for the realization of the potential and development of citizens’ talents – an achievement of the national goal set by our President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin. As part of the national project ‘Youth and Children,’ the educational and youth infrastructure facilities of the region are being actively updated. In the coming days, Krasnoyarsk will be the center of international dialogue. The final of the 6th International Olympiad on Financial Security is taking place here,” noted the Deputy Prime Minister.
In 2026, the Krasnoyarsk Territory became a venue for a number of large-scale projects, including the student sports festival “Univerliga”, the festival “Russian Student Spring” and the final of the competition “Big Break”. This year marked the 20th season of the All-Russian forum “Territory of Initiative Youth ‘Biryusa'”. In addition, the region hosts the year-round youth educational center “Sportex” – a project of Rosmolodezh. It was established on the basis of the largest extreme sports center in Siberia.
In 2028, the World Festival of Youth will be held in Krasnoyarsk.
Active work is underway in the region to modernize youth centers: since 2023, five youth centers have been modernized using a subsidy within the framework of the “Youth Centers 2.0” project, and nine such facilities have been modernized using a subsidy under the “Region for the Youth” program.
Dmitry Chernyshenko and Mikhail Kotyukov paid special attention to the development of sports, including the preparation of the region for the XIV International Sports Forum “Russia – a Sporting Power.” As reported by the head of the region, the subject has entered the final stage of preparation for the large-scale event, with all key tasks completed.
“The International Sports Forum, which will gather more than 3,000 participants, will once again confirm that our city is one of the significant sports centers of the country. The region possesses modern sports infrastructure and extensive experience in hosting major competitions at the federal and international level. We are ready to welcome guests at a worthy level and showcase everything that the Krasnoyarsk Territory is rich in,” emphasized Mikhail Kotyukov.
The Deputy Prime Minister and the head of the region also noted a stable positive trend in the development of physical culture and sports in the area. For instance, the involvement of children and youth in sports activities reaches 93.6% – which is above the national average. It is expected that by the end of 2026, the level of provision with sports facilities will reach 64.79%. In the next three years, new large facilities will appear in four cities.
Systemic updates are also underway in the field of education. As part of the federal project “Professionalism” within the national project “Youth and Children,” in 2026, educational buildings and dormitories of several technical schools in the region will be thoroughly renovated. Since 2025, at the initiative of the regional head, the regional program “Professionalism for All” has been implemented: 17 clusters have been created, uniting technical schools, colleges, and enterprises. By the end of 2030, all institutions within the secondary vocational education system will be included in the project.
Another topic of the meeting was the growth of the tourism industry in the Krasnoyarsk Territory: by the end of 2025, the volume of tourist flow to the region amounted to 1.4 million trips. The development of the industry is supported within the framework of the national project “Tourism and Hospitality.”
